What are some of your favorite lyrics?
I just get the chills every time I hear "And in that moment I am Adam, you are Eve..."
Also I really like "There will always be a wrong to your right, and there will always be a war somewhere to fight."
And pretty much all the lyrics to Freedom are amazing too!

I agree with all those posted! I also think they're great at lyrics that capture the excitement of youth and romance. Something like 'Feel so perfect in this kind of light, summer storm kept us up all night, and the rain was pounding down..." is just great and fits the melody perfectly.

I love those lyrics too!! I'm particularly fond of lyrics that have to do with nature, beauty, stuff like that...but I can also get down with lyrics about big black asses LOL ;D This band really has something for everyone!

I know it is simple and probably one of their more popular lyrics but "That's the biggest black ass I've ever seen, and I like it" only cause i wish it was white ass and he was singing it to me! *snicker*

It's my ringtone, so when people call me, I do a little rocking out before I answer! ;D

Although I find myself quoting "I Like It" on a regular basis for the laugh factor, there are a number of lyrics that I positively adore. I've mused the idea of which to use for a prospective Foxy tattoo...
At the moment, my family are going through some really hard times. I myself struggle heavily with depression and the condition's run pretty deep right now. Whenever I feel like giving up I think of a mixture between my own personal mantra of "Not today, motherfucker" and "Life is a bitch, but she's totally doable."
That line has been so positively true for the time being. Nothing's bright right now for myself or my family, but in the future it's going to be okay - because despite all the shit going on right now, we'll pull through. "Bye Bye Symphony" has become a "strength" song for me.
Another "strength" song of mine is "Oh Lord." Very nearly the entire song as a whole. It's reminiscent of my own struggles growing up, and what my family told me to make of it. It's beautiful and true, and the lyrics don't beat around the bush. It's straight-forward, it's what I know that I need to hear.
There's a handful of other songs, but those two are definitely the ones I've been stuck on lately because the messages have come into play again, and rather strongly.

Elle I feel the same way, you can't listen to Eric singing "Lord knows I've had some rough fucking years..." without wanting to be strong like him, and keep on keepin' on!! I have been dealing with depression too for the last year and there is nothing like music to help you through it. In fact some days I swear it's because of music that I'm still here.

I am a fan of 'Don't bid me farewell/Don't tell me goodbye/Please be here tomorrow/When I wake up, yeah'. Sad and beautiful.

I was driving home from the hospital yesterday and these words REALLY ju8mped out at me. Ive heard the song enough times, but hell, they smacked me yesterday. Simply amazing.
Home of the brave, Cradle to grave Being righteous don't make you no money Cause I'm barely able to put food on the table while, Big Bear's rolling in honey But don't cry, There's only one thing you take with you when you die Freedom, Freedom, Freedom

Yeah those are probably the saddest lyrics ever when you know it was written about Eric's sons! I gained a tremendous amount of respect and love for him when I heard this song and just thought, he has 2 little boys at home and a wife who want him there but he chooses to leave them and play music for us. Well I guess that's true for any musician who has a family but Eric talks openly about how hard it is. What an amazing human being.

It's crazy how you can hear a song so many times but the lyrics don't hit you until you've heard it like 20 times LOL
